Snowpocalypse Round II
Two years ago (almost to the week) Seth and I were living less than five miles from where we are now and there was a TORRENTIAL snow storm. I'm talking the kind that leaves people without electricity and could leave you D-E-D DEAD (what movie?) if you had some type of emergency (wow that took a turn for the depressing rather quickly...).
When we left New England I remember laughing at that storm and yelling GOOD RIDDANCE as we headed west. "Never will I return to that!" I silently smiled to myself.
The irony was in full force today when Horribly Freezing and Miserable Snowstorm Round II hit this morning. Here we are, back in New England. Here we are, gathering all the taco meat and Diet Coke we possibly can before the weather barricades us indoors.
Yet, life is good today. We have a beautiful little human who makes the weather less sad. We have a happy little life. Last night a friend talked about a quote that I really believe was the reason my outlook on the storm was so different this time around.
"Sometimes the Lord calms the storm, and sometimes the Lord calms us amidst the storm."
That, and our adorable new addition, are the reason this storm will be filed in the joy section of my long term memory (please tell me someone gets that reference).
