Mom & I Take Newburyport
One of the best parts of New England is the absolute charm of it all. Newburyport is the epitome of this charm with it's colorful buildings, beautiful ocean views, flower boxes, streets made of stone and brick, and cutesy shops and restaurants.
Initially when I heard of Newburyport I could only think of Winchestertonfieldville, Iowa (is that even a real town? 50 points to whoever gets that reference). It was one of those names that seems to have 14 different endings which never made much sense to me. Once I was beyond that I fell in love with this little town!
When we moved back across the country from the west coast for the second time, we were about 20 weeks pregnant and hadn't told anyone about it yet. This town has a special place in our hearts because it is where we ended up taking the photo to announce our little bundle of joy to the world. It was almost exactly a year ago!
We were using a self timer and a woman yelled at us to get off her property (we had set the camera on a little wooden stairway, we didn't realize it was private property). What a way to be welcomed back to New England, with that typical New England kindness ;) If you watch close in our video below you can see where I pointed out the infamous "private property."
It was so fun to return to this cute place and reminisce about how much has changed in one short year. If you are around this area, this is the perfect town to get away from the business of Boston while still enjoying the wonderful things New England has to offer.
